As we start another school year, please give yourselves extra time when dropping off your little ones and pay extra attention while on our roadways and in our school zones. Our officers will be out and about and we ask everyone to please be patient in our school pickup / drop off lines. If we all work together and focus on safety, we can minimize accidents. We are aware of the snow in Hesperia and the surrounding areas. Students are safely in class, all schools are currently open and will continue under their normal bell schedules; however, we are working to help keep students indoors as much as possible. The weather service predictions are that the snow will clear at midday. We will continue to monitor the situation and road conditions and respond accordingly. If any changes are made we will communicate those changes to the community. In the absence of any further announcements, schools will remain open and dismiss at their normal times. We ask parents to plan for extra time when picking students up and to be as patient as possible as we all deal with the winter weather.

Officers Lacey and Schuler presented to parents in the District English Learner Advisory Committee. They covered topics ranging from the dangers of social media to drug and alcohol abuse among teens. There will be an opportunity for all parents, students and staff to see this presentation in the district. The 1st training is being offered at Sultana High School in the Multi-Purpose Room on January 17th, 2023 from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. The 2nd training will be available at Oak Hills High School in the Multi-Purpose Room on January 18th, 2023, from 5:30pm - 7pm.
We'd like to urge all parents and students to use crosswalks at intersections and ensure everyone crosses streets the safest way possible. Our arrival and dismissal times cause heavy vehicle traffic at each school and we want to direct pedestrians to avoid walking in the roadway. Even when it is more convenient, we challenge you to cross the road the right way so we can avoid any potential disasters. Thank you and stay safe!
